How does Flys-Off Insect Repellent for Dogs& Cats work?
Flys-Off Insect Repellent for Dogs& Cats is a topical insecticide that helps kill and repel insects from your pet and their bedding. The active ingredients piperonyl butoxide is used in conjunction with pyrethrins for their synergistic pesticidal properties
Cautions:
If there is a sensitivity to Flys-Off Insect Repellent for Dogs& Cats, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately. Do not apply over cuts, wounds, or irritated skin. Do not spray near the eyes and mouth. Use only in a well-ventilated area.
Flys-Off Insect Repellent for Dogs& Cats Directions:
- Cover your pet's eyes with one hand and with a firm, fast stroke to get a proper spray mist, spray head, ears and chest until damp.
- With fingertips rub into face around mouth, nose and eyes.
- Spray neck, middle and hindquarters, finishing legs last.
- For best penetration of spray to the skin, direct spray against the natural lay of the hair.
- On long-haired dogs, rub your hand against the lay of hair, spraying the ruffled hair directly behind the hand.
- Make sure spray thoroughly wets ticks, if any.
- Repeat application on your pet every 9 days.
- For use on your pet's indoor sleeping quarters, remove your pets and any exposed food, drinking water, dishes, utensils before use.
- Exit immediately after using and remain outside treated area until vapors and mists have dispersed.
- Spray around baseboards, windows, doorframes, wall cracks and local area of floors.
- Your pet's bedding should be sprayed, making sure the area beneath the bedding is also sprayed.
- If mosquitoes, gnats or flies are present, spray lightly into air.
- Repeat application on your pet's indoor sleeping quarters every 9 days.
The recommended dose is about 4 squeezes of the trigger sprayer per pound of body weight. Short-haired pets will need less; more spray may be needed for long-haired pets. In all cases, apply spray until the coat is damp, not saturated.
