How does OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic work?

When eyes are open (at rest), OphtHAvet’s high viscosity helps reduce tear drainage and tear film break-up. As your pet blinks, the viscosity is reduced because of the pressure of the eyelid closing. This prevents damage to the eye surfaces. When the eye reopens, OphtHAvet’s viscoadaptive properties provide elasticity, allowing the solution to return to high viscosity.

OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic is unique because of its high molecular weight and medical grade hyaluronan, and osmoprotectants. It is also viscoadaptive and not like typical artificial tears.

What should I discuss with my veterinarian before giving OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic to my pet?

Discuss with your veterinarian if your pet has hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the components in OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic. Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the components.

How should OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic be applied?

OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic should be applied 1 to 2 times per day as instructed by your veterinarian.

What are the potential side effects of OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic?

What happens if I miss giving a dose of OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic?

Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next regularly scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and apply the next one as directed. Do not give a double dose of the medication.

What happens if I overdose my pet on OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic?

If you suspect that your pet has received an overdose, consult your veterinarian or emergency veterinary clinic immediately.

What should I avoid while giving OphtHAvet® Complete Ophthalmic to my pet?

Do not use any other eye medication on your pet unless the veterinarian has told you to do so.
